I recently came upon this "translation" of the DA submission terms in someone else's gallery, and am absolutely outraged by some of the clauses that stipulate what DA can and cannot do with my art.
Please read it. You'll be doing yourself a HUGE favour.
My art isn't exactly top notch, and the likelyhood of DA actually using any of my art is quite low. Nevertheless, I find that it is a matter of principle to support the right of the artist --whether average or exceedingly talented--to have his or her work seen and represented without the danger of being manipulated, changed or used corporately without paying the artist.
I'd just like to send out a huge thank you to all the amazing artists I've watched, and an even bigger thank you to those who have watched me. I've appreciated all of your wonder criticism and praise, both of which have helped me become a better artist. I have enjoyed
looking through your beautiful galleries of art, animation and photography. Most importantly, I have enjoyed getting to know the people behind the art, who in themselves have inspired and taught, given advice and listened.
Thank you all for inspiring me! Be assured that I will still be watching you (with the help of the old fashioned e-bookmark) for more wonderful work.
I'll still be around for a few days (deleting the rest of my work and journals) if anyone needs to contact me. For those of you who are part of my animation project, please e-mail me or send me a message through the First Light Studios forums.
